Who doesn’t love a great burger? Well, May is National Hamburger Month. What? You didn’t know there was an actual month dedicated to America’s favorite food? There really is and I for one will be taking advantage of this opportunity to celebrate “The Hamburger” with my kids.
Here are a few Sacramento area burger joints that rank high on the list of having fabulous burgers, as well as being great restaurants to visit with kids.
First on the list is de Vere’s Irish Pub. de Vere’s downtown is celebrating National Hamburger Month too. Each week throughout May, they are offering a special hamburger on their menu. This week the special is the Tostada Burger. Week 2 is the Firestone Burger, Week 3 the Stadium Burger, and week 4 is up for grabs. de Vere’s is letting the public decide! Have a little fun, let your kids get involved and cast your vote here on their blog. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
Next is Jim-Denny’s. Open for breakfast and lunch only, Tuesday through Saturday, Jim-Denny’s has been a Sacramento fixture since 1934. With the motto “you don’t need teeth to eat our meat,” how can you not give this family owned joint a try? I know I will be trying out their burgers real soon!
Finally, Smashburger with two locations in the Sacramento area. One in Citrus Heights, the other in Folsom. This place has gotten some very good reviews. With five yummy burger options including a “make your own burger” option, this is bound to be a SMASH hit for the entire family. With a name like Smashburger, you just can’t go wrong. And for this month only, in celebration of National Burger Month, Smashburger is giving out free fries on Tuesdays to customers who come in and say “Tuesday is double FRYday!” Yay!
So, I hope you get your kids out this month to celebrate an American staple, the hamburger. We would love to hear your feedback on where you take your kids for great burgers in Sacramento. Have a very Happy Burger Month!
