Chalk It Up At Sacramento’s Fremont Park

August 23, 2011

By Alyssa Green

Thank goodness Labor Day weekend is three whole days!  That gives you plenty of time to take advantage of all the fun stuff happening in Sacramento.  We have already told you about Gold Rush Days and Little Buckaroos Days.

Just in case you haven’t made plans for your family, here is yet another fun FREE family event for you to enjoy (don’t you just love Sacramento?)

From 10am to 6pm on September 3rd, 4th and 5th Fremont Park hosts the 21st annual Chalk It Up! festival.  This three day festival features over 200 volunteer artists who create chalk masterpieces all around the park and raise money to benefit children’s art education here in Sacramento.

In addition to the fun of being able to watch as these masterpieces are created, there will also be live music, craft booths, hands on activities for kids and for the grown ups, gourmet food trucks and a beer and wine garden.
