Old McDonald had a farm… E-I-E-I-O, and on his farm he had a story time…. E-I-E-I-O.
I don’t know a preschooler who doesn’t love farm animals or reading stories. And when I found that the barn at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova did both- we were there!
Every Tuesday morning at 10:30am, join the barnyard crew and Mrs. LuAnne in the big read barn for a fun and interactive story time.
While we were there we had the opportunity to pet a baby lamb (only 2 days old!), a friendly donkey (who also wanted to hear the story), bunny rabbits and even doves. The kids helped feed the turkeys, chickens and chased the roosters.
LuAnne read two interactive stories and the kids enjoyed “helping” with making sounds that the barn animals made. After the stories and playing with the animals, we took a little walk over to the playground and my kids had an active and fun-filled morning.
So if you have kids that are preschool age, this is a fun and educational way to spend a Tuesday morning. All they ask for is a $5 donation per child- which is more than worth it for the experience to pet, see and learn about the animals in a real barn!
