We all know someone who is serving or has served in the military. It might be one of your own family members, or maybe a close friend or just a neighborhood aquaintance. Whoever they may be, they deserve our love and support for serving our country. Celebrate with these “home-grown” heroes by joining the Sacramento Area on Friday, November 11th for an array of Veteran’s Day celebrations.
Come on down to the State Capitol at 10am for The City of Sacrament’s first ever Veternan’s Day Parade followed by a family program on Capitol Mall. From 11am to 1pm attendees will enjoy entertainment, displays, and family activities, including those for children (yay!)
Just across the river, you can salute our war veteran’s at West Sacramento’s Veteran’s Day Parade. The parade begins at 2pm at Westmore Oaks Elementary school and ends at Sam Combs Park, where the after parade festivities will be held.
Here’s a look at some other Veteran’s Day festivities happening in the area:
Sacramento Zoo, Military Family Day – Military personnel, vetererans and their families receive 50% off admission all day long.
Aerospace Museum – Open from 9am to 5pm with a brief ceremony at 11am; Admission is FREE for active duty military personnel, FREE for children under 5, and $5 for everyone else.
