Santa Visits Sacramento

If your kids are looking for Santa this Christmas season, they are sure to find him around town.  From parades, to festivals to breakfasts, there is no shortage of the popular guy.  Below is a list of Santa appearances in the Sacramento area.

Arden Fair Mall – now through December 24.  Visits and photo ops in Santa’s Magical Village, Center Court.

Fairytale Town – December 9 &10 and 16 & 17, Winter Wonderland.  This year’s Dr. Seuss theme will provide Grinch-style arts and crafts, performances on the Mother Goose stage and visits and photo ops with Santa in his workshop.

Old Sacramento – now through Dec. 24 you can see Old St. Nick –  AKA Santa –  at the nightly performances of the Theatre of Lights. This free event is a live-action storytelling/light show of the famous poem T’was the Night Before Christmas. Performances are nightly at 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Roseville Galleria – now through December 24. Meet and take pictures with Santa Claus.

Sacramento River Train – Beginning on November 26 and running each weekend through Christmas.  Train trip, story telling, caroling, hot chocolate, cookies and Santa.

Sacramento Santa Parade – Dec. 9, make your way downtown and cheer on Santa, his elves, marching bands, Christmas floats and more as you watch the Santa Parade. Begins at 10am, rain or shine.

Santa Holiday River Cruises – Dec. 9 & 10 and 16 & 17, Hornblower Cruises and Events. Enjoy a leisurely visiting with Santa and eating cookies as you cruise along the scenic Sacramento River.

Sunrise Mall – now through December 24, photo ops with Santa.  Visit the website to sign up online and avoid standing in line.

West Sacramento Community Center – December 9, Breakfast with Santa.  Hot chocolate, pancake decorating, activities and photos with Santa.

  1. Is there a place in old Sacramento to meet Santa and take pictures? There used to be one coupled with the polar express ride but I don’t know if only polar express ticket folks can see Santa after the train.
