A Gingerbread Holiday At The Old Sacramento Schoolhouse

December 2, 2011

By Alyssa Green                                 Don’t you just love Old Sacramento during the holidays?  So much going on, so much to offer!  Well here is yet another reason to visit our city’s historic district before christmas.

On display at the old Schoolhouse between December 3rd and December 18th, will be dozens of gingerbread creations.  Houses, mansions, shacks, and other creations – made by children, bakery academy students and others will be on display for your viewing pleasure.  Study and marvel at the creativeness of our Sacramento area resident gingerbread bakers and vote for your favorite before you go.

Prizes will be awarded and refreshments served at 2pm on December 18th.  Selected entries will be presented to the Receiving Home of Sacramento, Shriner’s Hospital and the Sacramento Children’s Home.

This is a perfect family activity…and admission if FREE!
