This week marks the start of Spring Break for many Sacramento area kids. And if you are like me- you want to make sure that the week is full of activities to keep the kids moving, active and BUSY! However, as it turns out, Mother Nature is playing tricks on us and it looks as if it’s going to be a bit more like “Winter Break” than “Spring Break” in Sacramento this year.
But luckily, we do have several “indoor” facilities in the area to keep our kids active. Everything from bounce houses, indoor play zones, museums and more- just check websites for possible spring break camps and hours.
Recently, I decided to take my daughter on her first Roller Skating adventure. I was quite naïve to think that she would be the youngest one there (she is 4 going on 16 after all). However, to my surprise, there were little guys out on roller skates completely whipping right past us and had more coordination than I do (well- that isn’t saying much). But, if you are nervous about taking your younger ones- don’t be! It was so much fun for both of us, and it was a great activity for these dreary and cold days we have been having.
There are several Roller Skating Rinks in our area- and we even have a couple Ice Skating rinks if you are brave enough to hit the ice.
We went up to Roseville to Roller King- the skate rentals were reasonable and the session was the perfect amount of time to skate, be tired and ready to go home! They also offered a “learn to skate” class before our session to teach us the basics. Spring Break hours this week are from 1:00pm-4:00pm and Admission is $6.00. Skate rental is another $3.00.
Here is a list of local Skating Rinks in the area:
(Be sure to double check their websites for times of sessions and pricing)
Again, double check websites for session times and class times. Have fun and Happy Spring Break!
