6/22 – Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music – Mark your calendar for a musical event like no other–monsters making music! Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, and all their Sesame Street friends are taking to the stage to share their love of music in Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music.
Jenny, an enthusiastic new music teacher, arrives on Sesame Street only to discover that her instruments are missing. Jenny’s new Muppet friends quickly come to the rescue and discover “instruments” they never knew existed…rubber duckies, trash can lids, and even cookie jars. Elmo and friends teach children that everyone can make and enjoy beautiful music together.
6/22 – Readers of Homer’s The Odyssey at Fairytale Town – From dusk till dawn, 200 individuals—including children, veterans, poets and teachers—will read aloud pre-assigned passages from Homer’s great epic, The Odyssey. The poem follows the famous hero, Odysseus, through his 10-year struggle to reach home following the end of the Trojan War. The all-night, nonstop reading, presented by Fairytale Town and the Readers of Homer, will take place on the Mother Goose Stage. There will be music and other effects to complement and add to the magic of the reading.
6/22 – Family Friday: Green – at the Crocker Art Museum – This week’s color theme is green. Children of all ages and their families are invited to make art from recycled materials with Girl Scout Troop 1412, use green veggies to create unique prints, play with mint-scented homemade playdough, and enjoy live music by Girl Scout Dani Cordero. Picnic fare will be available for purchase from the Crocker Cafe by Supper Club.
6/22 – Roseville Party in the Park – The Westfield Galleria at Roseville will unveil its new Park on the Promenade with a weekend of celebration. Enjoy games, face painting, music, and more.
The first 300 people in line will receive a free Party Pak with discounts, giveaways, and the chance to win a $100 gift card. Customers can enter to win a high-octane getaway to experience the new Cars Land at the Disney California Adventure Park. 6/23 – Reliving a Night In History at the Folsom History Museum – Celebrating Folsom’s 150 year history, enjoy a family event featuring a BBQ dinner, gold panning, doll making, blacksmith demonstrations, storytelling, games for kids, a bluegrass band, and other entertainment.
Period or western clothing is encouraged. Proceeds will benefit the Folsom History Museum and Pioneer Village.
6/23 – Black-tailed Deer at the Nature Center – Walk the Preserve with a naturalist to learn all about our local black tailed deer. “Biofacts” such as fur and antlers will be displayed for a close-up learning experience.
