Boot Camp with a Purpose on August 18th to help raise funds to rebuild the McKinley Park Playground!

By Heather Crivellone

On July 30th, one of Sacramento’s beloved parks was vandalized and destroyed by arson.  The McKinley Park Playground was a very popular attraction amongst local parents and caregivers, as children loved climbing through the wooden maze structure.
Sadly, it has now been destroyed leaving the community to face rebuilding this once beautiful playground.

Local business owner JC Charles runs Elite Fitness and Performance in East Sacramento.  He will be hosting a “Boot Camp with a Purpose” on Saturday, August 18th to help raise funds to rebuild the McKinley Park  Playground.
If you are familiar with “boot camp” style workouts, then you know that this isn’t for the light hearted.  JC pushes his members to achieve maximum results and reach personal goals (strength, weight and overall health) in fun and effective workouts.  If you are interested in his programs, check out their website or give him a call.

But on Saturday, August 18th from 8:00-9:30am at McKinley Park (601 Alhambra Blvd), you can join in on one of his popular boot camps and help raise funds to rebuild this lost play structure.  This would be a great change in your usual workout routine and to help raise money for a good cause… I can’t think of a better way to start your Saturday morning!  Plus- by burning close to 700 calories in one of these workouts- you won’t even feel guilty about splurging on your Saturday morning brunch!

The workout will be held in McKinley Park at 8am sharp (don’t be late or he might make you do an extra set of “burpeees” at the end).
For more information, please contact JC at 916-739-8780 or visit the website.
I hope to see you at the park to get into some great shape and sweat for a cause!
