Sacramento Zoo Food and Toy Drive

November 9, 2012

By Heather Crivellone

The Sacramento Zoo is getting into the spirit of the holidays.  By teaming up with the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, they are asking everyone to bring in a non-perishable food item and/or a new and unwrapped toy when you visit the zoo and recieve $1 off admission through the months of November and December.

“The Zoo is proud to partner with two organizations that make such an impact on our community. The Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services provides free emergency goods and services to nearly 20,000 men, women and children every year. The Toys for Tots program ensures that families in need will be able to provide Christmas gifts through their annual services and toy donations”.

And this Monday, November 12th in appreciation for our troops, all military personnel, veterans and their families will receive a 50% discount on admission into the zoo.  And since most of our kids have Monday off- what a great way to start the holiday by visiting the zoo, showing our children the spirit of giving and enjoying family time together while watching those “crazy monkeys” play (the kids, animals…sometimes they all act the same!).
