It’s going to be another beautiful weekend here in Sacramento- cold, but beautiful! What are your plans with your little munchkins? Have you visited one of our local parks lately? Yes- it may be a bit cold, but when it’s sunny and clear in Sacramento, there is no excuse to not bundle up the kids, grab some hot coffee and visit our great parks!
Kids don’t get cold anyways…they have so much energy to burn that an afternoon running around outside is perfect. And I’m sure that after everyone’s week back to school after the holidays- we have some kids who are ready to run, jump and tumble!
William Land Park is one of my favorite Sacramento parks. Not only do they have a nice playground (gated for the little ones), but it is also home to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town.
Fairytale Town is a child’s dream come true. Where fairytales come to life at this 2.5 acre play park, the kids can run and slide through classic stories like Mother Goose, Jack and Jill, Robin Hood and more. It’s one of my favorite memories growing up- playing at this park and watching the magic as nursery rhymes literally came to life through my eyes as a child. And I see the same magic through my kids, and it’s absolutely priceless!
Throughout the year, Fairytale town holds different events. This month there are few events not be missed:
This weekend, Saturday 1/12 you can help support Fairytale Town and get rid of your e-waste. Bring in your old televisions, monitors, laptops, computers, printers, scanners and more! The e-waste collection event will be hosted in a drive-thru format set up in the overflow parking lot located behind Fairytale Town off of 15th avenue.
