1/25 – Sacramento Kings Basketball Game – The Kings take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in this basketball game at Sleep Train Arena.
1/25-26 – Winterfest Dance Concert at St. Francis High School – Come out and enjoy ballet to modern dance in the Winterfest Dance Concert, performed by the St. Francis High School Dance Company.
1/25-27 – Vespertine Circus: Important Business – Renowned indie performing-arts troupe, the bombastic Vespertine Circus, has done it again with their latest original production, Important Business. Jam packed with acrobatics, juggling, clowning, aerial-artistry, & dance, this is one show you don’t want to miss. Coming to the Cal Stage for one weekend only! A cast of six clowns set a new bar for circus-theatre in their delightfully surreal, entirely unexpected office comedy…
1/26 – Family Activity: Winter Bird Walk at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center – Discover why winter is a great time for bird watching. Join a naturalist for a guided hike while looking for some of the Sacramento area’s most common birds. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from the Nature Center.
1/26-27 – Living in Space at the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center – What is an astronaut and what do they do? Learn more about the work these scientists do in space. Try on an astronaut costume and use glove boxes or perform simple science. The planetarium shows feature astronaut life and the
International Space Station. All children (ages 0-12) are invited to make an astronaut-themed craft to take home.
1/27 – Sunday Funday: Kids Cooking Class at Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa -Let the joy of cooking start early! Your little ones are invited to join a special Sunday Funday: Kids Cooking Class. During the hands-on class, talented and fun Chef Rina will show children how to make tasty and nutritious snacks and nutritious dishes they’ll love. This cooking class is designed to be fun and help create healthy eating habits to last a lifetime. Parents are welcome to stay and participate with their children or leave them with a certified Kids Korner staff member.
1/27 – Family Activity: Critter Close-up at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center – Where do our animals come from? Why are they here? Meet a couple of small animal residents at the Nature Center up close. Learn about each of their unique journeys and how they became an educational ambassador for the Nature Center.
Thru 1/31 – Pop-Up Science Month at the Sacramento Children’s Museum – This is the last weekend to join the Sacramento Children’s Museum for science experiments and activities! Pop-Up Science month is filled with wonderful opportunities for children to witness science experiments, have hands-on time testing, and explore science activities themselves. Each child will be given goggles and a lab coat to complete the retend play.
