2/8 – Families in the Kitchen at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op – Cooking as a family is one of the best ways to connect with children, teach them valuable life skills, and put them on the path to good health. But getting the kids involved can seem a little daunting. Join Shankari Easwaran as she shares some of her favorite recipes and techniques for sharing time and tasks in the kitchen. The instructor and guests will prepare the menu together and then enjoy the dishes made: rice pilaf with veggies, chicken tortilla soup, mini turkey meatballs, and apple crisp for dessert.
2/9 – Drop, Yak, Splat! Museum Fun for Families – Each month a different work of art provides the inspiration for a memorable art-making activity. This drop-in program is for families with children ages 5-12. This program takes place the 2nd Saturday of each month.

2/9 – Kids Crafting: Sugar Skull & Sacred Heart Activity – As part of the Rob-O Sugar Skull Art Exhibit, kids and adults can enjoy the
crafting of sugar skulls and sacred hearts in honor of loved ones.
2/9 – Family Activity: Pipeline Swallowtale – at the always free Effie Yeaw Nature Center. Come learn about this beautiful butterfly and its amazing life cycle. Then take a hike with a naturalist to discover the butterfly’s Pinevine plant host with its unique blossoms.
2/10 – Girls on the Go: 5K & 10K for women and girls – Ladies, start your engines! Put your pedals to the metal and join more than a thousand like-minded girls for Girls on the Go, a 5K/10K run/walk. Girls on the Go is every girl’s chance to commune with mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmas, and friends in a run, walk, jog, or samba to the finish line. This is not just any race; this race is a celebration of women of all ages and fitness levels. The finish line includes a girlicous medal, stylish t-shirt, festival, and so much girl time fun!
