Valentine’s Day is around the corner…what do you have planned?
Valentines Day is just around the corner and what are you planning for your sweet Valentines? There are events around town that you and your little sweetie can stay busy “expressing their love” for one another.
This Wednesday night, February 13th is the opening night of Disney on Ice’s “Dare to Dream“. Your little princess will be love struck by watching all of her favorite princesses skate the night away. I can’t think of a better way to spend Valentines than on a “date night” with your little girls.
And on Thursday, February 14th, visit some of our local libraries across town for FREE Valentines crafts and activities:
Robbie Waters Pocket Library in Sacramento kids ages 6-12 will enjoy a story and make a craft to take home from 4:00pm-4:45pm.
Valley Hi Library, North Laguna: teenagers will make polymer clay Valentine designs- bracelets, pendants, tiny sculptures, whatever they decide! Event takes place from 4pm-5pm.
North Natomas Library from 3:30-4:30pm teenagers can decorate some sweet treats. Registration is required and this event is also FREE.
North Sacramento-Hagginwood Library from 4pm-5pm let your teenagers get excited about the classic game of CandyLand all over again! The library will have a live action game set up through the entire library where they will travel through Cupcake Commons, Gummy Pass and Licorice Lagoon!
And of course, there are plenty of options where your kids can create their own special Valentines. At Art Beast, in Downtown Sacramento the kids can create cards, sculptures and/or paint to their hearts content.
At Color Me Mine, they can make their own special mugs, plates, sculptures, banks, etc. for their Valentines. And my kids’ favorite- Build- a -Bear. Let them choose the bear, pick out a special “heart” and watch as they bring the bear to life…. and don’t forget all the coordinating outfits they can choose from to “glam up” their special new friend.
However, my favorite…and what my kids will be doing is just enjoying each other with some good old-fashioned construction paper, scissors, glue and lots of glitter…because there really isn’t anything better than a homemade Valentine heart made with love (and some peanut butter and jelly stains of course)!
So whatever you and your sweethearts do on this holiday make sure you spend it with your “loves”.
