Last month, Sacramento welcomed another indoor play center for kids- Climbaroo in Natomas. I had the opportunity to take my 3 year old for an indoor play session and let him burn some of his “wild boy energy”… and luckily for me- he did!
Climbaroo is located in Natomas at 4421 Gateway Park Blvd. #130. They are open 7 days a week with open play sessions Monday-Friday and the weekends reserved for special group parties.
This play center is fantastic for the little kids (and for the moms who want a little R&R). They have a safe and clean climbing area with ropes, maze-type structures and things to climb in, through and over. Along with large soft blocks to build with and climb on, slides to speed down and of course things to jump around… it will keep those kids busy and moving all morning. And with Free WiFi and a cafe- it’s a great spot for moms to relax and enjoy some quiet time (well.. as quiet as it can get with kids running around).
I have been to quite a few indoor play centers, and I have to admit that what I like the best about Climbaroo is that they do have a full cafe with reasonable prices. It’s hard enough to get your kids to take a break for lunch- and it’s even harder to get them to eat the same boring PB&J that they always want in the morning, but once they get to the park or wherever we are going- scream and cry about it (or is that only my kids??). Anyways, they have a cafe with a large enough menu to satisfy the pickiest of eaters: Corn Dogs, Chicken Nuggets, Sweet Potato Fries, Salads, etc. And most of the menu items were around $3.
They are also a family owned and operated business and they take pride in their building.. so you know it’s clean! They personally sanitize the play structure every night… that is such a great feeling to know that when my kids are climbing around and jumping on the blocks that you know they have recently been sanitized (especially in the Toddler area that is geared for ages 2 and under).
And even though the play structure is geared for little kids- they have things for the older kids and even have nights that are dedicated to the older “Tweens”. They have a game room with play stations and TV’s that are running all the time. “Club Roo” on Saturday nights is specifically for the older (9-14 years) to come and play, dance, and just hang out with their friends in a “club” environment (lazer lights, loud music, open play, etc).
So, if you are looking for a place to get some energy out of your kids- check out Climbaroo… it’s a great place for Mommy’s groups, play dates and/or just a morning or afternoon out! Every month they will be offering something fun for the kids- this month they are having a St. Patricks Day Celebration and on March 29th you can Color an Easter Egg to take home and have lunch with the Easter Bunny! This event is for children ages 5 and under and will be held from 11am-3pm. Check out their calendar on the website as they have quite a few fun events planned (including a PARENTS NIGHT OUT…. drop off your kids for some fun play time and you and your hubby go out for a well deserved evening!)
Open play hours are Monday-Thursday 9:30am-6:00pm and Friday 9:30am-6:00pm. Friday Family Night is 6:00pm-10:00pm. Club Roo Saturday Nights 7:00pm-10:00pm (check calendar for the nights they are “partying it up” at Club Roo).
Admission is $8 for a 4 hour session.
