5/11 – Sacramento Youth Symphony Premier Concerto Concert – Under the direction of Michael Neumann, the Premier Orchestra of the Sacramento Youth Symphony will perform works including Concerto for Cello by Saint Saens, Concertino for Flute by Chaminade, Finlandia by Sibelius, and Star Wars by Williams. Spring Concerto Concert will feature the winners of the SYS Solo Competition: Killian Kelly, Cellist and Samuel Primack, Flutist.
5/11-5/12 – Mother’s Day Celebration at the Discovery Museum – It’s a special day for Moms at the Discovery Museum; let’s make some beautiful memories. Why not treat Mom to a picnic on the grounds? Take some fun family photos in our Space Quest! exhibit. Children 12 and under can color sweet pictures of animal mothers and babies to give Mom as a souvenir. Remember, your admission also includes a planetarium show at 1pm or 3pm (ages 4 and older) and an animal presentation at Noon or 2pm.

5/11-5/12 – BerryFest at the Placer County Fairgrounds – What makes a happy mom on Mother’s Day? Happy kids! And BerryFest on Mother’s Day Weekend is all about the kids. Enjoy the Boy Scouts pancake breakfasts each morning at 8am, a full line up Kids Zone shows, carnival, pony rides, petting zoo and steer rides, the Little Miss Strawberry Pageant, and over 100 arts and crafts vendors
5/11-5/12 – Marvelous Mother’s Day Weekend at the Sacramento Children’s Museum – During this Mother’s Day weekend, the Sacramento Children’s Museum is offering free admission for mothers as well as card-making activities in the art room, frame making, and a photo booth! The photo booth will be free of charge and allow mothers and their children to take memorable Mother’s Day photos.
5/12 – Mother Nature Walk at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center – If you are looking for something to do with Mom or just a Mother Nature lover then join a naturalist for a hike! See some wild mothers in action and spend some time with Mother Nature this Mother’s Day.
5/12 – Mother’s Day at Funderland – Spend Mother’s Day enjoying all of the thrills at Funderland. For this special holiday, moms get to ride for free!
5/12 – CycloFemme – Welcoming all women and women-supporters. Come celebrate Mother’s Day and ride to encourage women to ride and change the world! Tiny Helmet Big Bikes rides to honor the past, celebrate the present, and empower the future of women in cycling. Join for a casual ride starting under the Guy West Bridge on the American River Parkway. The group will stop for a break at William B. Pond. You can meet up there if you’d enjoy a shorter route. End your ride at the Sunflower Drive-In in Fair Oaks for more fun and celebration.
