Now thru 1/16 – Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink – The Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink has a long history on The Kay. The rink was first established in 1991 by the City of Sacramento. The Downtown Sacramento Partnership assumed operation and management of the rink soon after with the goal of creating a signature holiday experience for the region. Downtown Sac has been a holiday destination ever since.

1/6-1/17 – Discovery Museum – CLOSED for exhibit change

1/10 – Sacramento Kings vs. Orlando Magic at Sleep Train Arena

1/10 – Composting, Mulching & Organic Fertilizers for Healthy Trees and Gardens – Shady backyards and bountiful harvests start with healthy trees. Learn how compost, mulch and organic fertilizers can enhance your entire garden. Each participating family will go home with a compost bin (truck, van or SUV needed to transport).

1/11 – Fairytale Theater – Enjoy two different Fairytale Theatre productions starring local high school students. Shows will occur on a rotating schedule.   Holka Polka is a fun journey through a mythical land where witches, wizards, and royalty come together to solve the mystery of who cast the sleeping spell on the prince.  Peggy the Pint-Sized Pirate is the fun story of a determined pirate who has been alienated by her peers for being too small. While she may be small, Peggy is brave, fearless and, determined to prove her worth, she sets out to boldly go where no pirate has gone before: to the lair of the
evil sea-monster

1/11 – Tools and Tales at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center – Come join the Effie Yeaw for some tantalizing tales of creatures, people, and nature! Get a chance to view replica Maidu artifacts made from the gifts of the earth and learn about their many uses.

1/11 – Second Saturday at the Auto Museum – The Museum offers special tours every 2nd Saturday of the month at 2pm.  A new topic is featured every month! January will feature Pistons and Cams and Gears… Oh My!, led by docent Greg Goodsell. The tour will give you a peak under the hood of many of the museum’s cars to explain what makes a car work and why. Plus, you will be able to see how those technologies have changed over the years.  Free with Museum Admission.

1/12 – Sacramento Kings vs. Cleveland Cavaliers at Sleep Train Arena – The Sacramento Kings take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in this basketball game.

1/12 – Salamander Story Time at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center – Come enjoy some stories about these amazing amphibians, learn all about their double lives, and meet one of the most deadly kinds up close!
