6/6 – June First Friday at the Fountains in Roseville – June’s First Friday includes: Cinderella Company appearances from Tangled: Rapunzel and Flynn from 6 – 9pm, near the main stage, the Sacramento Kings Slamsom appearance from 6:30 – 7:30pm, car show by Sac City Muscle Car Club, artisans and Crafters, allStar DJ and dancing by Twin Cities Dancers. Come out for some fun street dancing, FREE Kids Zone including inflatable interactive game, mad science experiments, face painting, balloon artistry and more!
6/7 – Nature Tales at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center – Members of the Sacramento Storytellers Guild will share their entertaining tales of animals and nature.
6/7 – 2nd Annual Dia del Nino – The 2nd Annual Día del Niño is a day for kids to create art! There will be mural paintings, mask making, story-telling, dance workshops, and much more.
6/7 – 37th Annual Gathering of the Elders at the Indian Museum – In today’s fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever to take a moment and honor history, culture, and traditions. The State Indian Museum is hosting a very special community event to celebrate and honor California’s Native Elders with the 37th Annual Gathering of Honored Elders.
6/7 – Fire Station 1 Open House – are invited to bring your family and friends to visit with firefighters, take a tour of the fire station, get an up-close look at a fire engine, and more!
6/7 – Summer Reading Kick-off Party and Ice Cream Social at Franklin Library – Paws to Read this summer! Get into the spirit and sign up for our Summer Reading program at this fun, annual, community event. There will be games and crafts and of course, yummy ice cream!
6/7 – 6/8 – Puppet Show: Cinderella at Fairytale Town – Puppet Art Theater Company presents the popular princess story Cinderella in the Children’s Theater. In the classic tale, told Puppet Art Theater style, Cinderella wants to attend the ball and dance the night away. Unfortunately her stepmother and awful stepsisters conspire against Cinderella, and it is up to her Fairy Godmother to get her to the Ball.
6/7 – 6/8 – Cosmic Comets and NASA Activities at the Discovery Museum – Celebrate comets this weekend and watch the family feature “The Comet Kitchen.” Learn how to make a comet nucleus at home using household ingredients and dry ice. Kids can make a paper “PDA” booklet to save their comet information, and make a “dirty comet” model to take home.
6/7 – 6/8 – Childrens Fun and Literacy Area – Join for a day full of fun children’s activities that include storytelling, reading, book mobile, face painting, music, games, books, and much more during the first Sacramento Black book fair.
6/8 – Sports Spectacular Lego Adventure at the Aerospace Museum – From biking to mini-golf or airplane acrobatics, explore the mechanics of sport as you build a motorized model of your favorite sport.
