New Years’ Resolutions are in full swing and people everywhere are catching the “running bug”. Living in Sacramento, we have some great trails and almost everywhere you go, you will catch sight of people lacing up their sneakers to “hit the pavement” and get in a few miles on the track.
Every month we have the opportunity to join others and run for a cause, participate in a wild and crazy running event and include the entire family for some fitness filled fun! From the “Zombie Run” to the “Mud Factor” we have plenty of ways to keep our family active and teach our youngest ones about living a healthy lifestyle.
One of hottest and most epic events is coming to Sacramento on February 28. The Color Fun Fest 5K brings the Holi Festival and the electric dance movement together with a day and night glowing color 5k Run!
“As day transforms into night and the dust settles from our day color event, we power up the strongest black lights in the world and transition our day color event into a nighttime glowing color festival called Color Fun Fest.
Join us at the finish line as we celebrate life with an after party of mass color and high voltage dance music. Come one, come all, come spend your weekend with your family, friends and loved ones to create an EPIC night you will never forget”.
This colorful running event will be held on February 28 at Cal Expo (1600 Exposition Blvd in Sacramento). Tickets are NOW on sale and are only $25 until January 25th. Kids 12 and are under are FREE until this day, so go online and secure your spot! This is an ALL AGES event and fun for the entire family. Children are encouraged to participate either by running, walking or in the strollers.
At the end of the race, you will enjoy a “Finish Line Festival” with music, vendors, food and a monumental “Epicolor Toss”. Kids of all ages will have a blast at this fun-filled event!
Color Fun Fest 5K is also a proud supporter of Just Care More, a non-profit organizations that aims to provide underprivileged youth the opportunity to experience fitness related activities. Their goal is to show children there are fun ways to stay busy while developing healthy hobbies. This is an organization that is truly making a difference and if you are a parent, you know the importance of keeping your children healthy and active. This is an organization that my family is proud to support and we will be out there in full force at the Color Fun Fest! My daughter and I have done several runs in the past and when I showed her the pictures of this run, she was even more excited than before. A combination of the run, color blasts and music – it’s going to be a day (and night) to remember!
