The California Capital Airshow will have you Flying High in Sacramento

September 14, 2015

California Capital Airshow 2

The California Capital Airshow (scroll down for information on winning tickets) will kick off its 10-year anniversary with a special nighttime performance, Airshow After Dark, at Sacramento’s Mather Airport on Oct. 2, 2015.

“As the sun sets on Friday, October 2, the skies over Mather Airport will ignite with a feast for the senses as thrilling jets and aerobatics performers light up the sky with streaming flares, showers of colorful bursts from their wings and thundering pyrotechnics. These phenomenal performances will be skillfully choreographed to awesome concert quality music with a fiery grand finale – it’s nothing like the Sacramento region has ever seen or heard before!”

If you can’t make it to the nighttime event, don’t worry. This year’s daytime shows, Oct. 3 – 4, will be just as exciting. Spectators will witness military jet demonstrations, USAF Thunderbirds, Canadian Forces Snowbirds, as well as aerobatics, pyrotechnics, barnstorming and plenty of ground entertainment, music, food and exhibits. Got kids? There will be plenty to keep kids of all ages busy, as well. Teens can stop by the Launch Pad to experience interactive games and demonstrations as they learn more about the latest aircraft innovations. Younger children can learn, explore and play at the Kids Zone. This interactive exhibit, hosted by the Sacramento Children’s Museum, will have inflatables and interactive exhibits for the younger kids, free with admission to the airshow. Guests of all ages will enjoy getting up and close and personal to the aircraft and pilots.

My youngest just turned 2. His infatuation with Planes just amazes me. He is complete awe of any type of plane, jet, or helicopter he sees. When he hears one, while in the house, he will run to the nearest window to look for it. Both my boys will absolutely love getting to explore the planes and seeing them up close and personal. We would love to experience the After Dark Air Show. That sounds like a blast! We would be forever greatfull if we were chosen. I can’t wait to see my kids faces light up when we go! Especially my 2 year old!

My daughter stated that she is inspired by our troops, but especially by our air force, and the women and men that are up in the air for us( the people) but to watch up close and personal would mean the world to her.

My 9 year old daughter is really excited to see the after dark airshow because she thinks it would be more fun at night. My 12 year old son really wants to see the planes in the air doing tricks. We’ve never been to an airshow together since my son had a severe sensitivity to sound up until a year ago. We’ve now watched our first fireworks up close and would love to experience these amazing pilots performing up close as well! Thank you for this amazing opportunity. 🙂

My family have never been to an airshow. My daughter was never a fan before but recently she became one after watching Plane the movie. I know it will take her breath away to see plane tricks live! I hope our family wins. It will be such an experience of a lifetime.
