Fairytale Town celebrates its 15th annual ScholarShare Children’s Book Festival, the largest early childhood literacy event in Sacramento with back-to-back readings and presentations from authors and illustrators on the Mother Goose Stage. Who’s going to be there, you ask? Well, if you’ve got children, it’s likely that you can recite from memory, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. The author of this beloved children’s book, Laura Numeroff, will be at Fairytale Town this weekend to entertain fans and introduce her latest book, Raising a Hero, scheduled to be released on Oct. 15, 2015.

Come join the fun, for FREE! In addition to author readings and autographs, children will be able to shop at Fairytale Town’s official bookseller booth, Time Tested Books, enjoy two musical storytelling presentations, “Peter and the Wolf”, and “Rhythms to Stay, Rhythms to Play”, and experience hands-on literacy activities throughout the entire weekend.

Giveaway: If you would like a chance to win a signed copy of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie and a Fairytale Town prize pack (park admission for 4, magic key and plush Humpty Dumpty doll), check out the other authors who will be at the festival, and then come back here and tell us which author your kids would love to hear in person. A random drawing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015.

  1. Congratulations Chin! You are the lucky winner of Fairytale passes and an autographed copy of Laura Numeroff’s If You Give A Mouse A Cookie! Please contact us to claim your prize.

  2. My kids have already heard JaNay Brown-Wood and Musical Robot, so I think they would like to hear Janet Collins and Laura Numeroff.

  3. My daughter would be excited to see all the authors, she find it fascinating that authors can use their imagination to write stories. Me myself, I’m delighted to meet the author of ” If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” That was one of my favorite books when I was growing up.

  4. My daughter would love to hear McKay and the Magical Hat by Kate David!

My son would very much enjoy hearing Helping Herbie Hedgehog by Melissa Abramovitz!

And it sounds like we’d all love to hear Deck the Walls by Erin Dealey!

We’re very much looking forward to this event!!!

  5. My kids would love to see Musical Robot (Jason Adair & Scott Namanny)

Presenting: If You’re a Robot and You Know It

They are really into classic robots right now. I know they would really get into it and do all the robot moves 🙂
