I know the contest is over, but I want to tell you my favorite memory. My family had been going to Gibson Ranch for 40 years, since my son was 8, he is 49 now. We were cat fishing one evening using bait, no luck. We ran out of bait, but we had some left over hot dogs, so we tied a small piece to the hook and within seconds we had a huge catfish on. I tell everyone about this story. It must have been what the catfish were used to eating. We love Gibson Ranch!

We moved to California when my son was 4. On his birthday, October 13, we had always taken a group of kids to a pumpkin patch. It was a great place for the kids to play and run around, and then we would have cake and presents. Easy for Mom and fun for all! But when we moved here we didn’t know any other children and we’d never been to a Sacramento pumpkin patch, so we had no idea what we were in for. Luckily, I found the Gibson Ranch website, and I knew that was the place for us. My son made two good friends in daycare over the summer, so we had a little party to celebrate his 5th birthday, and it was perfect. Gibson Ranch is where I saw my little boy fit in in his new hometown and it made us feel like we belong here!

Love Gibson Ranch! Some of my favorite family photos are from a small tromp we took last year when my daughter was two. The air was cool, little critters scampering up trees were making my little one laugh, and the light was perfect for pictures. We had a great time, and the photos we took will be cherished always.

I’m thinking of taking my twin boys to pumpkin patch this year. We don’t seem to be lucky with any sort of drawings or lottery, but maybe our twins are. Btw, thank you for your posts and sharing of these family activities.

My most amusing memory is picking out a pumpkin at the patch and my mom being chased around by a goose! I never knew she could run that fast! 🙂
